life, everyday (week two)

It was crazy warm this week…so the dog got a bath in the driveway. He hates baths. (Can you tell?)

A little bit of spring on the kitchen table (along with all the other stuff that clutters up here). I’m brainstorming a garden that will let me have fresh flowers in the house as many months of the year as possible.

Our new couch and armchair were delivered this week…and are inspiring me to start fifteen other home improvement/design projects (at once)(obviously). Next up is this mantle. What should I do with it?!

His and hers breakfasts.

Seriously though…breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Bacon and egg sandwiches are a thing that happens often. On waffles is a total treat.

I’m really not ready for the new year until my calendar gets here. This year’s is filled with pictures of the food I created last year. It’s all sorts of kitchen inspiration…and delicious memories.

I made this skillet cake for my grandpa’s birthday, with just a few changes. Greek yogurt and milk in place of buttermilk (3/4 cup yogurt + 1/4 cup milk = 1 cup (sorta) buttermilk). And cardamom and apple pie spice made it into the batter to create a cake that was slightly spicier. It was a major hit. Happy birthday, Grandpa!
