Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce

Buffalo Ranch Sauce in Bowl

I think sometimes I need a metaphorical punch in the face that says things like, step outside your comfort zone. And also, what are you doing with your life these days? And probably most important…stop living in a rut.

In these moments, I buy hot sauce. I dunno. But it sort of seems to make sense. When a relax trick…like laying in the grass and staring at the clouds…doesn’t shake the rut, I figure it’s best to attack it with hot sauce.

Except…the truth is I’m a total conservative hot sauce wuss. And I don’t even like the mess of chicken wings…which is probably a story for a different day. So! Instead, I’ve folded a medium sized amount of hot sauce into a greek yogurt and ranch dip, and decided it’s time to be proud of my small adventures already. Already, I’ve used this as a buffalo inspired ranch salad dressing. And, as a dip for oven baked chicken fingers and grilled cheese made with extra thick french bread. It’s something like living on the edge in my house.

Salad Overview

The last thing you should probably know is…when I feel like things are one giant mess, I overuse this … grammatical disaster. I’m not going to apologize for it. Unless you consider buffalo ranch sauce an awkward form of apology, in which case I’m sorry. For the rut too, I think.

Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce

2 cups plain greek yogurt
1 packet ranch seasoning
3/4 cup hot sauce (I used Frank’s Red Hot Wings sauce)

In a small mixing bowl, whisk ranch seasoning into greek yogurt. When mixture is smooth, fold in hot sauce. Transfer to a small serving bowl. Refrigerate leftovers.

This sounds good…especially with grilled cheese.

I don’t like wings because of the messiness, too, so i totally understand you. This sounds delicious to me, although I’d probably kick up the heat because i LOVE spicy stuff. yum!

I have made this before! The ranch dressing seasoning in yogurt is amazing! I never actually added hot sauce to it, but I have had it over buffalo sauced chicken. Amazing combination!! You got it right using Franks hot sauce! There the best! ;)

Oh Ryan would love this dip. And I probably would do. I’m a hot sauce whimp as well, but I imagine with the creaminess, I could handle this. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful photograph!

I am not a fan of ranch, but add in some hot sauce, and I could be convinced!

We love spicy sauces so I am totally on this one. Thanks, Sarah!

what a great sauce! It is so versatile with different dishes and easy to make. I could just start licking it with my finger honestly- you wouldn’t mind now would you! LOL!

Dude. You used the words chicken wings. Now I won’t be able to think about anything else until I get some. You know how that goes. Geez.

I can so imagine using this sauce with the wings instead of blue cheese dressing.

This is so perfect Sarah! I think you know how big a fan we are of Frank’s. Put it in/on anything and I’m hooked. So fun!

Shawn @ I Wash...You Dry August 21, 2012 at 11:42 pm

Well I L.O.V.E. the spicy, so bring it on! This would probably go on just about everything in my house! YUM!
